ANTI SNAP LOCKS | ABS SECURITY | LOCKSMITH IN LEEDS

PATENTED ACTIVE CAM TECHNOLOGY™

The clever locking system of the Avocet ABS® diamond grade cylinder is triggered when the lock has been snap attacked. The locking system fires into action to create a robust barrier to entry.

The patented Active Cam Technology™ is hidden deep within an extremely strong Molybdenum cam which is 20% stronger than steel. It delivers ultimate resistance against a lock snapping attack and both snap and twist manipulation.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

Standard euro cylinder locks are weakest around the screw fixing position. The offer standard euro cylinder locks offer no resistance against lock snapping. Even locks with only sacrificial sections offer a limited resistance against lock snapping.

ABS® is different - The ABS® kitemark 3-star lock has a unique patented method of locking the cam into position to secure your home against intruders.

The lock-off point is deep within the cam and the pin isn't close to the snap off point so cannot be easily manipulated after snapping.

TWO SACRIFICIAL BREAK POINTS

The external (outside) part of an ABS® lock has two sacrificial sections that will break away if an intruder attempts to attack the lock with mole grips, for example.

If the first sacrificial section removed, your lock is still fully functional, your ABS® key can be still inserted into the lock to safely open the door.

If the second sacrificial section is removed the ABS Active Cam Technology will fire into action to lock the cam into place this prevents intruders from accessing your home!

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

The three-stage approach to sealing and securing your doors from the outside ensures that intruders cannot manipulate the locking points of your door.

ABS snap secure features are all placed on the outside part of the lock to make sure that the lock is not weakened at all on the inside when the lock is attacked on the external side.

This means that key entry from inside is not compromised. So you can open and close your door safely and securely.

16 ANTI-DRILL PINS

The ABS® lock is packed full of anti-drill pins to totally secure the cylinder against drilling.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

Some locks have anti-drill pins only in the snap off section which is useless after the first part is snapped off!

ABS anti-drill pins are located before and after the snap line for maximum defence against an attack.

LOCK BUMPING & PICK PROTECTION

It is important to note that both lock bumping and lock picking are advanced lock manipulation techniques which are acquired by expert locksmiths with many years of experience. In our experience, these particular techniques are not used by the opportunistic burglar, who aims to bypass your locks as easily and as quickly as possible.

Lock bumping is a method of entry that uses a modified key which is tapped with a rubber mallet or tool to make the pins jump to the shear line within the cylinder the result is a quick and quiet access the inside of your property.

ABS euro cylinder locks have an advanced magnetic anti-bump and double pin built into the pin system, this which effectively stops lock bumping keys from opening the lock.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

Bumping is a nondestructive means of entry so claiming insurance can be extremely difficult if your lock has been bumped. The ABS anti-bump and 3-star diamond accreditations means that you can be sure your lock is bump-proof

ABS PASSES EVERY TEST

Avocet ABS® locks are routinely tested by the police, locksmiths and other security professionals.

ABS is the only lock to have held the Sold Secure Diamond accreditation every year since launched in 2010.

ABS is accredited and tested to the following standards:

  • Police Preferred Secured by Design specification

  • BSI - British Kitemark™

  • Sold Secure Diamond

  • TS007 - 3-star rated

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

Lock test specifications introduced in 2010, such as TS007 and the SS312 Sold Secure Diamond standards include robust security tests to ensure that locks are secure against lock snapping.

Before 2010 locks were not subjected to lock snapping tests. So although your door lock may have a kitemark, there's a strong chance it won't have a 3-star rating, meaning it wouldn't be secure enough to pass a lock snapping test.

Companies that have locks stamped with a British Kitemark are audited regularly to ensure that they're the products and manufacturing procedures comply with the strict requirements of the British Standards Institute (BSI).

YOUR KEYS - SECURED
